WHY STUDY FOR AN ISM QUALIFICATION?

ISM qualifications combine the practice and principles of sales management to offer universal relevance, whatever sector, organisation or country you work in. They are based on principles which set out the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of competent sales professionals.

The ISM offers  professional and accredited sales qualifications approved by OFQUAL.  The programmes are designed to accommodate each and every potential sales person along their career path from the earliest stages through to when they are at true exponents of their craft.

Would knowing about Sales and Marketing help to you get a job or onto more training?  You can get a government recognised qualification from the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM), the UK’s professional membership body for salespeople.  Level 1 is the place to start and is suitable for you if you meet any of these criteria:

  • You are unemployed
  • You are in full or part-time education
  • You are on a government training scheme
  • You have no work experience in Sales
  • You have little or no work experience in any field
  • You are interested in learning business skills to help your career
  • You want a qualification at a level equivalent to GCSE grades D to G or NVQ Level 1

We offer eight bitesize qualifications in Sales and Marketing:

Level 1 Award in Selling lawfully and ethically

  • 1 credit

Level 1 Award in Understanding the sales cycle

  • 3 credits

Level 1 Award in Understanding marketing

  • 2 credits

Level 1 Award in Communication skills in sales

  • 1 credit

Level 1 Award in Understanding consumer buyer behaviour

  • 1 credit

Level 1 Award in Developing customer service skills

  • 3 credits

Level 1 Award in Market your business

  • 1 credit

Level 1 Award in Make successful deals in business

  • 1 credit

We also offer two bigger qualifications consisting of combinations of the bitesize units above, so you can start with a small qualification and like it, you can take the other units and get a bigger qualification:

Level 1 Award in Sales and Marketing

  • 7 credits

Level 1 Certificate in Sales and Marketing

  • 13 credits

Want to learn about Sales and Marketing?  You can get a government recognised qualification from the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.  Level 2 is a good place to start and is suitable for you if you meet any of these criteria:

  • You are in full or part-time education
  • You are on a government training scheme such as an Apprenticeship
  • You are in your first job in Sales or are interested in working in Sales
  • You have little or no work experience in Sales
  • You want to start learning about Sales
  • You want to supplement your Business Studies course
  • You want a qualification at a level equivalent to GCSE grades A* to C, BTEC First or NVQ level 2
  • You are taking part in Enterprise Week or a business project
  • You want to be assessed on your ability to select and use relevant knowledge, ideas and skills to complete well-defined tasks and address straightforward problems, taking responsibility for completing tasks and exercising autonomy subject to overall guidance or direction.

We offer a choice of seven small qualifications in Sales and Marketing:

Level 2 Award in Understanding laws and ethics of selling

  • 3 credits

Level 2 Award in Understanding marketing

  • 4 credits

Level 2 Award in Understanding buyer behaviour

  • 3 credits

Level 2 Award in Sales targets

  • 2 credit

Level 2 Award in Selling to customers

  • 5 credits

Level 2 Award in Understanding selling to customers

  • 5 credits

Level 2 Award in Telesales

  • 5 credits

We also offer a bigger qualification:

Level 2 Certificate in Sales and Marketing

  • 17 credits

You can start with a small qualification and if you like it, you can take more units and get a bigger qualification.

Want to get on in your Sales and Marketing career?  You can get a government recognised qualification from the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.  You can start at level 3 if you meet any of these criteria:

  • You are employed in your first or second sales job
  • You want to deepen and broaden your knowledge and skills in selling and marketing
  • You want to build on knowledge and skills to progress up the sales career ladder
  • You have responsibility for a sales account or a sales area
  • You want a qualification at a level equivalent to A-level, BTEC National or NVQ level 3
  • You want to be assessed on your ability to identify and use relevant understanding, methods and skills to complete tasks and address well-defined problems which have some complexity, taking responsibility for initiating and completing tasks.

Are you thinking of moving into sales management or account management?  ISMM qualifications are written by sales experts and are designed to equip you with knowledge and understanding of theories for sales and account management.  They are all recognised by Ofqual, the UK examinations regulator.  Level 4 is for you if you meet any of these criteria:

  • You are an aspiring or practicing sales manager
  • You are an aspiring or practicing account manager
  • Your role requires you to manage other people and/or resources
  • You want to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in sales and account management
  • You want a qualification at a level equivalent to first year degree or Higher National Certificate
  • You want to be assessed on your ability to identify and use relevant understanding, methods and skills to address problems that are well defined but complex and non-routine, taking responsibility for overall courses of action and exercising autonomy and judgement within fairly broad parameters.

We offer a choice of eight bite-size qualifications in Sales and Marketing:

Are you a sales manager or account manager and are you looking for ways to perform even better in your role?  ISMM qualifications are written by sales experts and are designed to equip you with knowledge and skills to develop your sales or account management career.  They are all recognised by Ofqual, the UK examinations regulator.  Level 5 is for you if you meet any of these criteria:

  • You are a practicing sales manager or account manager
  • Your role requires you to manage other people and/or resources
  • You want to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in sales and account management
  • You want a qualification at a level equivalent to a Higher National Diploma or foundation degree
  • You want to be assessed on your ability to identify and use relevant understanding, methods and skills to address broadly-defined complex problems, taking responsibility for planning and developing courses of action and exercising autonomy and judgement within broad parameters.

Are you a senior sales manager sales director and are you looking for ways to perform even better in your role?  ISMM qualifications are written by sales experts and are designed to equip you with knowledge and skills to develop your career.  They are all recognised by Ofqual, the UK examinations regulator.  Level 6 is for you if you meet any of these criteria:

  • You are a senior sales manager or sales director
  • You are aspiring to be senior sales manager or sales director
  • Your role requires you to lead strategically
  • You want to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in strategic sales leadership
  • You want a qualification at a level equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
  • You want to be assessed on your ability to refine and use relevant understanding, methods and skills to address complex problems that have limited definition, including taking responsibility for planning and developing courses of action that are able to underpin substantial change or development, as well as exercising broad autonomy and judgement.
