ISM Midlands Regional Event

Earlier this week we enjoyed a thriving evening of networking and sharing best practice at the ISM Midlands Regional event, hosted by Valpak Ltd in Stratford Upon Avon. Lyn Bromley, Managing Director, First Impressions Ltd, delivered a highly engaging presentation on Communication Skills. The session began by highlighting the importance of continually making small gains to improve your skills, and that mindset is the foundation for achieving what it is you want when communicating with customers.

The paradox of technology proved to be a much-debated topic as the attendees discussed whether we are more connected through technology or is the connection more transient now, and should we still take time out to interact face to face. Lyn closed the session by exploring our behavioural characteristics through DiSC, our communication preferences vs how these characteristics are perceived by others.

Once the presentation had finished, attendees took the opportunity to network some more and it was clear to see that lots of connections were made. This was a hugely successful event that drew a lot of positive feedback.  We look forward to seeing you all at the next event early in 2019!

About the Author:

Rachael is the primary point of contact for all members and prospective members. She takes enquiries through a range of communication channels, updating of membership databases as well as managing the membership life-cycle including sales, payment, new member communication, member benefits and renewals. She also manages and develops membership events in the UK and abroad as required. Although based at the ISM’s London offices, her role requires regular travel to coordinate and manage member volunteers, such as regional committees.
