The thrill of the chase. The buzz of landing the deal. The high pressure and high reward work environment. These are just some of the usual reasons why people across the world choose to pursue a career in sales. For me, it’s the endless opportunities to learn and try new things why I feel fortunate enough to say that I love what I do.
Unfortunately, people often think that sales is all about talent and no skills when it’s a lot of hard work behind the scenes. In fact, talent might get you through your first years if you’re lucky, but you must continuously work on finessing your prospecting, negotiation and consultative selling skills (amongst others!) to rise all the way to the top and stay there.
ISM have been instrumental in both my personal and professional development over the past 5 years. I have read every issue of the Winning Edge magazine, attended the very first ISM regional networking event, sought advice from their mentors and do my best to dial into all the webinars that run throughout the year. However, the key benefit of being part of ISM is the opportunity to network with and learn from like-minded sales professionals all over the country.
I truly found my tribe in ISM. It’s so much more than just a learning & development resource. It’s a big, loud, and most importantly supportive family passionate about sales and learning. It’s a no brainer that every sales person should be a part of ISM!
